This plan is easy to understand. White pushes the b-pawn to lengthen the range of Bg2 and arranges his pieces to support the queenside advance.

Swedish GM Ulf Andersson squeezed the queenside in an endgame for a model win againsGM Gulko in the Biel Interzonal 1976.
