The Modern Reti
The Reti Opening is now getting some much needed analysis.
The Modern Reti by GM Delchev(Chess Stars 2012)
The Reti-Slav 1...d5 2.c4 d4 Reversed Benoni
This is a very important line to be familiar with for battling the Reti and according to Delchev,
'It is the most unpleasant retort to 2.c4'-Delchev(p.26).
This is the subject of the feature game.
2...d4
GM Neiksans took some risks in a patient maneuvering game with the following middlegame themes,
- Maneuvering in an equal position
- King walk in the middlegame
- Better pawn structure
- The knight as a maneuvering force
- QBN-QBB
- QN-QB(good N vs bad B)
Neiksans,A (2535) - Ebeling,M (2273)
Reversed Benoni 3.g3 Nc6[A09]
TCh-FIN SM 2012–13 Helsinki FIN (13.1), 09.03.2013
Position 1
White has been patiently maneuvering around with the nimble knight and better structure to work with. How should white continue?
